+ Never Gone
11:25 PM
Sorry I haven't updated for more than a month. There were so many things happened this past month. With the new job at LGBT Resource Center on campus, going to Denver for the National Convention for the fraternity, organizing and signing up our chapter at the San Diego Pride parade, and all those apartment moving and drama... All these things in life just kept me busy from the web. Especially now my job is basically making the website and all the publicity graphics for the Resoure Center, I just don't want to look at the computer screen anymore once I'm home. But I just can't bring myself to abandon my site like this. I've always come back everytime, and this time is no different. However, I've no interest in recapping everything that happened in this past month. Let's just start all over again, right here and right now, and hopefully this time I'll find the commitment to continue the journal.

it's not a bad thing to be busy. as it is always said "capable ppl are always busy." btw dun treat your journal as a commitment. it's only a personal interest. jobs in real life are always more important. add oil =)

Hiiii!! I've missed you! Anyways, I understand. Somtimes you just don't feel like blogging and no one can force you. You should do it because you want to, but I love your blogging so I'm very happy every time you update :) Yeah, starting all over is maybe a good thing. I hope you'll keep up posting, but I understand if you get tired of computers by being at them all day. I had a computer job once and though it was only like two weeks I was like "Gaaaah, computers no more!!" but that job sucked. I had to registrate books into a bookshop database... Why am I telling you this? No clue. Anyways, I'm so glad to see you back *hugs*

+ Apartment Hunting
11:35 PM
Even though I've only gotten two comments on my last entry, but these are the things that give me motivation and keep me going on blogging. Anyway, last night for some reasons I felt kind of lonely and couldn't sleep, so I went on Downelink and left Kiet a long message. I also sent an email to Shaun asking for a day off for today, because Kiet has a day off too, and we wanted to go around and look for an apartment. We started out by going online and calling around different apartment complex with no luck. We want to stay in La Jolla where it is close to school since I don't drive, but most apartments in this area are way over our budget. But we were lucky when we actually got out and started looking. We found this place for a bit lower than our budget. My only hold back was that we can't move in until the 16th of September, which is kind of late considering that school starts just a week after that. Originally we were planning on moving sometime in late August or early September, so that we actually have some time to relax and enjoy before school starts. Anyway, for the price and the location, we just couldn't wait and keep looking, so we settled for that place. It was all worth it though. Kiet was so happy 'cause looking for apartments was such a big stress for him.
Tonight Kiet and I just stayed at my place and watched Latter Days and Beautiful Thing. I have seen both movies but Kiet hadn't seen either of them. Watching Beautiful Thing reminds me of those days before I came out; it was such a big deal being gay and afraid of people finding out. Shawn stopped by during the movie to get his PowerBook charged 'cause his AC adaptor is broken. Shawn and I are leaving for Boston in a few days. I'm really excited and I just can't wait.

I am glad you're updating again. I missed reading you.

+ The Sound of Unsettling
11:47 PM
Today at work I finally finished transferring all the pages from PHP into HTML and ASP for the Resource Center's website. I originally coded all the pages in PHP, but the I.T. department for the Resource Center said they only support ASP, so Debbi asked me to re-code all the pages. It took me a while but it's finally done. I've also re-coded the Q-Camp Registration mailform in ASP, and it's up and running again. Sometimes I'm kind of tired of all these website stuff that I do. Don't get me wrong, I love my job. It's just that sometimes it's frustrating how many limitations there are. I enjoyed those small projects they gave me every once a while like designing posters and brochures so much more.
Anyway, Kiet and I went to turn in our applications and paperworks for the apartment. It seems like it's pretty sure that we'll get the place. Now we just need Robbie to turn in his paperworks and seal the deal.
As the day of us moving in together getting closer and closer, I start to doubt my decision. I thought I could handle my feeling for Kiet; I thought I could control it and just hangout with him as a friend, but I'm not so sure anymore. The more I hangout with him, the more I find myself liking him, especially these past few days. Sometimes it's just so hard, hanging out with someone who I like so much but know that I can't have. I think Kiet might even know about my feeling for him too, and that unsettles me a lot. I don't want him to feel uncomfortable around me. I want to talk to him about it, but I don't know if it's just me being too sensitive, and if that's the case, I wouldn't want to bring it up. I don't know, but I think my trip to Boston for a week is a great time for me to just get away from him for a while and reorganize my thoughts and feelings.

CLEM. God, it's been a while since I've last been here. xP Anyways, sounds like lot's of work for you. Goodluck with the moving in thing. I wish I could give you some advice or something, but I've never been in a situation like yours. So, I guess, just hope for the best? Have fun in Boston.

Oooh a new apartment! Sounds exciting, I swear you keep moving each year, how do you do it?! Haha ;')

+ Take a Break from San Diego
12:22 PM
Yesterday after work I went tabling with Shaun, Anthony, and Laura for the Resource Center and QPOC at the Summer Bridge Student Organizations Fair. It was exciting seeing some new faces coming in UCSD this Fall. Hopefully they'll be active once they're here 'cause help is much needed in many queer organizations here on campus, especially after Anthony mentioned he would like to see QPOC bring back the high school conference this year. If we were to organize a conference with our lack of experience, we need as much help as we can get.
Anyway, didn't really do much last night; spent most of the night packing and getting ready for Boston. Our flights leave tonight at around 7pm. I said flights instead of flight because we're flying out on different airplanes. In fact, I'll be all by myself until we get to Boston. It's not a big deal though. I've flown internationally all the way back to Hong Kong all by myself before, flying across the country doesn't worry me. Shawn wants to have dim sum this afternoon before we leave, and there are a couple errands I hope to get done before we go, like depositing my check so I've money for the trip, and getting a bigger memory card for my digital camera. I don't think the 32MB memory card that came with my camera will be enough for this one week trip. And since I don't know when I'll get the chance to go to the east coast again, I want to capture as much as I can. To be honest, I'm really looking forward to this trip, not just because it's Boston, but also because I can finally take a break from my work, from my feeling for Kiet, from San Diego...
Wish me a safe flight. I'll have my PowerBook with me, so hopefully I'll be able to keep you guys up to date with my journey. Bye for now.

+ A Quick Note from Boston
04:10 AM
Sorry I didn't get to go online as much as I would like to in this trip. Internet access is quite limited sometimes when you don't want to pay for expensive wifi services at airports and coffeehouses. When I finally found a free wifi spot to update my journal, it's also the end of my Boston trip. I'm actually at a hostel spending my final night of the trip here in Boston. My flight leaves at 6:30 in the morning, which means we'll need to get to the airport by 5:00 at the latest, which means we'll have to leave the hostel at around 4:30, so we decided to stay up all night and just sleep on the planes. This past week was a blast. I have such great time and awesome experiences. I'll have to post a detail entry once I get back to San Diego. Just want to stop by and let you guys know that I'm still in Boston and things are just fine.

Lilac | 2005 08 22 | 12:13 PM PST
Oh, that sounds good you've had a good time. I'm looking forward to reading about it :D

Engel | 2005 08 23 | 02:42 AM PST

Glad to hear you had a fun time at Boston. I can't wait for more details. :) And sorry to hear about the internet issue. But, I'm glad you found it for free.
